Dreamscapes

Often, we associate dreams with something that happens when we are asleep, when the subconscious takes over.  But what about when we are awake, when our minds drift into hazy memories or a place we long for? A place we wished we could be at any given time…where the “daydream” takes over.

In this fraught era, these paintings represent places I dream about. A place where there is calm and peace.  When I need an escape, I imagine myself walking in the quiet woods with dappled sunlight shining through the trees, a walk along a deserted shoreline in the early morning with the sounds of the crashing waves surrounding me, or wading through a gentle marsh. I get into a contemplative state when the sky darkens and is followed by lovely thunder and rain. With this new body of work, I invite the viewer to become immersed in their own “dreamscape.”  Return visits are encouraged.
